Out of faith I came to IBIS during the school year of 2007: I came without a clear purpose. I took my time and I am still here. I was guided by the Spirit to understand that “an inheritance gained hastily in the commencement will not be blessed in the end” (proverbs 20:21).I learned as August Vilmar stated that “theology serves real life…and… it instructs the coming generation towards becoming a generation of true shepherds for whom this never ending and arduous labor of shepherding, pasturing and seeking the sheep has become second nature, so that their hearts are grieved when they do not tend the entire flock. And this care is extinguished only with the last breath of life.” I learned that in the ministry there would be trick question. Some of your exams seem to be full of trick question. Notice that some question helps you to see, while others test your knowledge. Nicodemus for example ask, “Jesus, how do you do these miraculous signs?” Nicodemus was unable to see that the religious system of his day kept him imprisoned in his mind and limited in his vision. Jesus warned, “ Nicodemus, unless you are born again you cannot even see the kingdom of heaven.” The training at IBIS stared a process in me that allowed me, after continuous study to grasp who is in charge of change in my life. “So God get all the glory. The leadership at IBIS ensures that the student receives training in the word, support you to understand God’s purpose for your life and to see in the supernatural kingdom. Scripture explains that Christ has given to the church the apostle, evangelist, prophet, pastor, and teacher for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry . Your ministry will be revealed to you by God. When your sight comes from the kingdom of heaven you will know your purpose and your office in the Body of Christ. Many of you have already received this blessing as a result of attending this institution. As you leave this holy place of learning, be faithful, plant seeds of redemptive love as Christ did, accept that you are not alone and develop team ministries to feed and grow the body of Christ.
